You are considered a candidate if your 1) BMI is >=37.5 or 2) your BMI is >= 32.5 and have any two of the following medical conditions:

E. Degenerative Joint Disease
F. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
G. Fatty liver disease

Recovery after laparoscopic bariatric surgery is usually quick. Patients are usually able to ambulate the night of the surgery and are expected to be discharged from hospital 2-3days post operation.
